Thunder TQ50C

With the new Thunder TQ 50C, HIKMICRO has developed a new high performance clip-on thermal imager. The vanadium oxide sensor works with a resolution of 640x512 pixels and an outstanding thermal sensitivity of less than 35mK, combined with a 50mm lens diameter. The thermal image captured in the process is displayed on an OLED HD display with a resolution of 1,280 x 960 pixels. The user can choose from a total of four different filters; he also has the choice of adapting the color of the menu to his preferences.

At the same time, the device comes with a number of interesting features that make it a real all-rounder. For example, video and photo recordings can be stored on the built-in 16 GB flash storage, which can then be accessed and shared via app. The connection can be made with the smartphone either via the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot or a USB-C cable.

A picture-in-picture feature allows the user to zoom into the live view and have the resulting section displayed as an additional picture in the view. This helps hunters in particular target game. Digital zoom extends up to 8x magnification and is done via skip-free section zoom, which improves clarity.

The TQ50C is operated via the control-cross-shaped keypad on the top, and the significant elevation of the buttons makes it much easier to use.

The company HIKMICRO also offers a particularly long manufacturer's warranty of 3 years and should the sensor show a drop in performance even 10 years.

With a reduction ring (not included), you can connect the Thunder TQ50C as a dual-use device via a Rusan adapter with your scope. For better repeating accuracy, we recommend the clamping sleeves from Präzise Jagen.

A new, much more precise alternative is the use of the "Precise Hunting" adaper system: This is shown in the following figure. The reduction ring is also required here. However, this is then screwed to the duo connector. The latter always remains on the device and is then connected to the clamping sleeve for mounting on the scope. The latter then remains permanently on the scope. The connection is much more repeatable due to the bayonet lock.
